Last week, against the stunning backdrop of Glenveagh National Park, the Le Chéile don Dúlra (Together for Nature) festival marked a massive milestone for environmental leadership. Alongside our partners at Common Purpose Ireland and Leave No Trace Ireland, Native Events was proud to officially launch the 2026–2027 chapter of The Leaders for Nature Programme.
Breaking Silos: The Success of Our Inaugural Year
When we co-developed this cross-sector, all-island initiative, we knew traditional approaches to sustainability weren’t moving fast enough. The climate and biodiversity crises are deeply interconnected and cannot be solved by environmentalists, policymakers, or business leaders working in isolation.
Our inaugural cohort proved the power of breaking down those walls. By bringing together diverse professionals from local government, agriculture, finance, conservation, and community development, the programme fostered a unique network grounded in “Leading Beyond Authority.” Participants stepped outside their organizational comfort zones to collaborate on solutions aligned with Ireland’s Climate Action and National Biodiversity Plans. The overwhelming success of the first year demonstrated a massive appetite for this integrated, nature-positive approach.
Looking Ahead to 2026–2027
Systemic change takes time, and the momentum built by our first cohort is too valuable to stop. We are returning for the 2026–2027 programme to scale this impact, welcoming a brand-new group of emerging and senior leaders.
The upcoming immersive journey will feature a blend of peer coaching, experiential in-person gatherings, and interactive online sessions. It is designed for anyone whose work intersects with sustainability, resource use, or climate resilience, and who wants the tools to lead systemic change.
