At Native Events, we’re delighted once again to be involved with Generation Glas — a groundbreaking youth programme empowering Ireland’s young people to lead on sustainability, climate action, and the bioeconomy. After the success of its first installment, we’re proud to continue our involvement, providing event planning expertise that brings this pioneering initiative to life.

Generation Glas, co-created by BiOrbic and Foróige, is an eight-month ambassador programme where young people explore climate science, sustainability, and policy, meet researchers and innovators, and co-design projects that make a real difference in their communities. The programme isn’t just about learning — it’s about taking action. From workshops to residentials at sustainability hubs across Ireland, participants develop the skills and confidence to communicate, lead, and inspire change.

For Native Events, our role goes beyond logistics. We’re ensuring that every event, workshop, and activity is delivered sustainably, reflecting the very principles the ambassadors are championing. Our Sustainability Lead, Áine May Hughes, and Circular Events Lead, Josh Brownlow, are at the heart of this effort, guiding the programme to model best practices in environmentally conscious planning and circular event design.

Being part of Generation Glas is a natural fit for Native Events. It allows us to combine our passion for creating seamless, engaging experiences with our commitment to sustainability. Every detail we support — from planning sessions to coordinating venues — demonstrates how events can be both impactful and environmentally responsible.

The programme’s influence extends far beyond the classroom. Participants have already shared their ideas on national platforms such as RTÉ’s Ecolution podcast, and through their community projects, they’re turning knowledge into action. It’s inspiring to see young people stepping confidently into leadership roles, and we’re proud to support them every step of the way.

Generation Glas is made possible by strong partnerships. Alongside BiOrbic, Foróige, and the support of Research Ireland Discover, Native Events is helping ensure that the programme runs smoothly, sustainably, and successfully. Our involvement reflects a shared belief: that the future of Ireland’s sustainability movement depends on equipping young people with the tools, opportunities, and confidence to make change happen.

As the programme enters its second installment, we at Native Events are excited to continue this journey. With Áine, Josh, and our team providing expert support, we’re helping turn every session into a living example of sustainability in action. We’re proud to be part of a project that empowers young people, showcases best practice in events, and inspires a greener, brighter future for Ireland.

Generation Glas isn’t just a programme — it’s a movement. And Native Events is proud to stand alongside Ireland’s next generation of changemakers.
