Role: Creative Production Designer & Exhibition Lead
Type: Project-by-Project Contract
Location: Dublin HQ & Warehouse Facilities
Reports to: Creative Director / Operations Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile Creative Production Designer to lead the end-to-end delivery of brand activations and exhibitions, trade show stands, and immersive festival experiences with circular economy principles embedded throughout. This is a unique role that requires a blend of artistic vision, technical architectural design, and “boots-on-the-ground” production management.
You will be responsible for taking a client brief from a rough concept to a high-fidelity 3D render, managing the physical inventory required to build it, overseeing the budget, and physically executing the build on-site. This is a high-autonomy position for a “maker” who loves to see their digital designs come to life in the physical world. You will work across a diverse portfolio of clients, from corporate trade shows to creative music festivals. Ideal for candidates with backgrounds in Scenography, Interior Architecture, or Theatre Production.Â
Key Responsibilities
1. Concept, Design & Visualisation
- Concept development, leading the creative process from initial ideation to final execution strategy for client activations.
- 3D modeling & rendering to create accurate, scaled architectural designs and high-quality visual renders using SketchUp (or equivalent) to secure client approval.
- Technical drawing to produce detailed build plans, including measurements and dimensions, for builders and internal teams.
- Create designs that are inherently modular, allowing components to be reconfigured for different clients and spaces.
- Ensure design for disassembly – all builds can be easily taken apart without damaging the raw materials, facilitating reuse rather than skips.
2. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain a digital and physical inventory of existing materials to understand what can be utilised for new projects before considering new procurement.
- Lead the maintenance of our stock – cleaning, sanding, and repainting – to extend the life of every asset in our resource library.
- Optimise our warehouse to ensure materials are preserved in peak condition, preventing damage-related waste.
3. Production & Procurement
- Devise material lists that prioritise salvaged, recycled, and environmentally-certified materials.
- Build relationships with suppliers, timber merchants, and builders’ providers who hold environmental sustainability as a core ethos.
- Develop comprehensive material lists for procurement based on design specifications.
- Oversee build budgets, ensuring we invest in high-quality, durable materials rather than single-use fast-build solutions.
4. Logistics & On-Site Execution
- Coordinate the logistics of moving materials, furniture, and decor from our warehouse to venues.
- Safely operate a van (own van preferred or ability to hire / drive company vehicles) for transport and site deliveries.
- Lead or oversee the physical installation and de-rig of events, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
Requirements & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Expert-level knowledge of SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar 3D modeling software. Proficiency in rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape) and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- A strong understanding of build materials, carpentry, and the mechanics of temporary structures/exhibition stands.
- Experience managing project P&Ls and procurement spreadsheets.
Physical & Logistical
- Full, clean driving license. Ownership of a commercial van is a significant advantage.
- Comfortable using power tools and performing manual tasks (painting, lifting, basic construction).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends/evenings during peak event seasons (festivals, trade shows).
Experience
- Proven track record in Event Production, Set Design, or Exhibition Build.
- Experience navigating the logistics of large-scale event venues and outdoor festivals.
